How to select product for promotion

It is a hard task to choose what you could promote and earn some money. There are many indicators that can lead your campaign to success or failure and often you will fail if you won’t give right attitude to them. Here is a list of some main indicators you have to watch for:

  • product’s price - I recommend promoting products from $180 (convert Amazon’s UK price to $, as it will be easier to count if you will get profit, promoting with Google  Adwords). You see, the convert rate can vary from 0,2 to 0,02. So, if you promote with $0.1 per click and spend $10 you will get 100 clicks. With lower convert rate you will get 2 sells and it will be worth – $180*0.05*2 = $18. You will get $8 profit. You will have 80% revenue on investment. Quite good, but you need to count in all fees you will have to pay to your government. In example, in Lithuania we have to pay 24% profit fee, so we would get - $8 – $8*0.24 = $6.08. It is 60.8% return on investment. I think it is still good for steady income. Remember, that your referral fee will get higher while you will sell more products and then you will earn more.
  • opinion of the others – every time check what others say about the product, because potential buyer coming in through your link will see that rating, and they barelly buy products that are rated lower that 4 or 3.5.
  • is item in stock – when people search, they are eager to buy NOW. If product will not be in stock, they will look elsewhere, and you will get a loss.
  • demand – always there is a new hot product released or even some released some time ago but still are wanted by forthcoming buyers. Check the demand with Google Trends. Also you can open an account on Google Checkout and watch which products are best selling in the world or specifically in UK.
  • competition – check promotional competition with AmazonHunter2. You will see how many ads are promoting your selected item, and how many of them are Amazon affiliates.
  • season – in example, in spring demand of garden tools increases , and in summer – holiday related products.
  • trend - there is many celebrations which increases the trend of special products. Try to fill that trend and earn more money.
