Are you still researching keywords for your next blog post, article to get free traffic to blog?

I believe that not many bloggers or website admins use this method. This way is going to give you massive Google search engine traffic, cause we will use actual keyword search trends. Using this technique you will discover keywords that will gain more Google traffic!

First you can use Google Trends. It will help you finding the top 100 hot topics. But this is useful if you posting about top news stories or celebrities.

I recommend you using Google Insights for Search. It is the tool you must use. Google Insights for Search started four years ago and now they have the actual search data that you can analyze and make a benefit fotr yourself.

First, open your free account (if you have Gmail mail, you will have only log in).

Of course Google is not going to give you their candies, but we can take advantage of it. You see, Google is keeping the actual search volume hidden from us. We get the comparison to the peak search volumes.

Here is what Google says about it:

How is the data scaled?

The data is displayed on a scale of 0 to 100, after normalization; each point on the graph has been divided by the highest point, or 100.

For example, let’s suppose that interest for the term skiing surged in the month of November in Sweden. Our system designates that peak as 100. Now let’s suppose that interest decreased significantly in December, where the next highest peak was approximately half of what it was in November. That peak would then be designated as 50, and so on.

Below search tool there are some examples. It is worth to check them out, to better understand how it can be used and what traffic data it can reveal to you.

I will use the concrete example. Lets say, I write a post about how to get free traffic to blog. I’m doing this right now..

OK. Let’s enter keyword “blog traffic” to the search box. I used filter to select only targeted area. I target United States, because there are the biggest high quality traffic and most of advertisers bid more on this targeted traffic.

And here is what Google gives out. We get the results of top searches within selected area and period

As you see, keyword “traffic to blog” has biggest search volume and it is valued to 100. And in comparison to it keyword “increase blog traffic” has value of 40. So what does it mean?

It shows that “increase blog traffic” has only 40% of “traffic to blog” average search volume.

If we click “traffic to blog” we will get its search volume trend. As you can see, it has his peak at the end of 2007 year. Now it is in downtrend and it has the same search volumes as in the middle of 2007.

We need to check the other relative keywords this tool provides. And yes, we have the one – “how to blog”. It’s trend is still rising and now it is in it’s peak. We can use it writing our next post . Try the others and you’ll find your goldmine.

You can use this process for any niche you might be working in. Just do the same and you’ll get the astonishing results. Remember, testing is our way to success and profit.
